Factors Affecting Chinese Furniture Export

Mar 23, 2022

There are five main factors affecting China's furniture exports:

(1), the added value and intellectual property rights of design and products. An important way to improve the export efficiency of Chinese furniture is to improve the design level of furniture products and increase the added value of furniture products. Paying attention to the protection and utilization of intellectual property rights in furniture design is also an important task to expand furniture exports.

(2) The exchange rate ratio between the exporting country and my country's currency. The appreciation of China's currency is not good for Chinese furniture exports; it is good for Chinese furniture exports to maintain the relative stability of my country's currency against the US dollar, the euro and the Japanese yen.

(3) The attitude of furniture manufacturers and governments of exporting countries to the import of Chinese furniture. In order to win the recognition and support of Chinese furniture from the exporting country's furniture manufacturing enterprises, we can take the initiative to jointly carry out business with the exporting country's furniture manufacturing enterprises, and establish joint ventures with them to jointly manage the local sales of Chinese furniture.

(4) Technical barriers of exporting countries. my country's furniture export enterprises must actively study and understand the relevant technical regulations and laws of the exporting countries, so that the furniture products we produce and the places and processes of furniture production meet the international management and technical standards of the exporting countries. At present, it is important to understand the technical standards and requirements of the exporting countries in terms of environmental protection. Make good use of non-governmental technology, quality certification organizations and institutions in relevant countries.

(5) Abuse of WTO rules. Enterprises and governments of some countries fail to protect the interests of local enterprises, and often abuse the rules of the World Trade Organization to file anti-dumping lawsuits or special protections against my country's furniture exports. In response to these situations, Chinese enterprises should understand and be familiar with the WTO's regulations in this regard, and take measures to prevent the occurrence of situations that are opposed in the WTO rules. The state also takes reasonable and positive measures according to the principle of reciprocity to protect the interests of my country's furniture export enterprises.
